Both metal detectors are designed for semi-professionals and cost up to $1,000.

Considering the catalog parameters (especially for a beginner), the first thing that catches your eye is that there are three frequencies in the Minelab X-Terra 705, and the Garrettt ATPRO can dive underwater.
